Hey - I'm new to Laravel (been working in railsland) and found this great, clean CMS that I wanted to use on a small site while learning PHP. Grabbed the freelancer theme which is a perfect fit for what I'm doing but it requires the 'octomail' plugin which seems to have been wiped from github and the cms plugin listing. Any ideas where I can get this and if not is there a plugin that can be substituted in for it?

I've used that plugin on a couple of my sites. I don't know where or why it has disappeared. You could try contacting the developer directly -> octopus@octodevel.com to see why - he may have pulled it to make it compliant with the Release Candidate or he may have decided to make it a paid for plug-in or maybe its been pulled by the guys at October for contravening something. WRT to a replacement you could try the free FlexiContact plugin - though I had issues with getting that to work which is why I went the OctoMail route.

edit - I have just checked just the plugins and Contact by Fabricio Rabelo is the replacement for OctoMail but it is no longer free - http://octobercms.com/plugin/fabriciorabelo-contact/octodevel-contact-form

He pulled all his plugins and deleted his github repos. We're not sure why. It doesn't look like they'll be coming back.

Octodevel has resurfaced as an other developer. His plugins are roughly based on the octo plugins but are paid now :(

Are you referring to Responsiv Internet? That's not him :)

Don't know if it's a good idea, but we could create a new repo with the last version ? I personnally use this plugin on my website, it was working well.

No it's not a good idea - whatever his reasons for no longer publishing under OctoDevel he is still the author of the plugin and is now selling it on the market place under a different guise. It's not your job to give it away free - it's the job of the theme author to fix the dependency.

Oh yes, sorry I missed the last part of your first answer, where you confirm that it's the same guy. Of course in this case it's not only a bad idea but it would be really unfair to give his plugin for free if he publish a paid version.
