Feature request. It would be nice if a Payment Gateway facility in supported internally by october.

Since October is built on Laravel, you can use Cashier :) http://laravel.com/docs/5.0/billing

But it wont be usable without some work, as the README also tells you ;) Btw: Payment gatewaysis nothing that should belong to a CMS' core.
