As a Content Management System I expected non-developers could edit Page content in a visual editor. I'm unclear why this was not included. It seems there is only 1, maybe 2, Plugins that provide this functionality and they don't appear to be reputable.

But Laravel and OctoberCMS is still slightly abstract for me, as I come from WordPress - like many.

Note, I am a programmer, not a front end user. But I build websites and applications for non-programmers.

Okay, thank you. So it is by design that OctoberCMS does not include a native WYSIWYG?

OctoberCMS does include a WYSIWYG editor by default, it's Froala. See https://octobercms.com/docs/backend/forms#widget-richeditor.

It's not used on the CMS section of the backend by default because that section isn't meant to be managed by clients, it's meant to be managed by developers. See the RainLab plugins for the plugins that are developed by the core team and guaranteed to be high quality. Specifically for your case you probably want to use RainLab.Pages: https://octobercms.com/plugin/rainlab-pages

I don't recommend installing other WYSIWYG editors, they're pointless in my mind but ultimately that's up to you.
