Hi all,

I am building several mini-sites on different subdomains. Do I have to install the CMS separately for each subdomain or can I have one install with separate folders for each subdomain?

Thank you.

Hi,

there is a plugin (payed) maybe fitting your requirements: https://octobercms.com/plugin/linkonoid-mdomains.

On the other hand: If your mini-sites may share the same the same theme, it's possible to use a single installation, afaik.

Best regards :)

If you have a problem, try to solve it. If you can't solve it, don't make it a problem.

You can run the same codebase across multiple websites using environment variables. The web server can pass different environment variables to each instance and this will produce a different result based on the hostname. Things like:

  • database settings
  • active theme
  • which plugins are disabled
  • storage directories, for uploads and media

Modifying these will give you the power to generate a unique website using the shared codebase
