Hello all,
October looks a very interesting and a fresh take on the CMS software. Congratulations!
However I have an issue with the way plugins are installed - if I understand it correctly I need to register my project with your cloud service in order for this to work. I do not wish to do this for various reasons (I tend to test and experiment a lot, want things to work offline, NDA agreements of any kinds with clients, etc. to name a few).
Is there another way?
Cheers
In the backend > system - updates you will see an option to search on the right...
Just enter the plugin name, for example, rainlab.user ...
This will install the user plugin...
Mike
Note:
The user plugin is required for the forum plugin... it may be required for other rainlab plugings too...
Plugins must exist @ http://octobercms.com/plugins/

Judging from the comments on the forum plugin, it depends on the user plugin to be able to work.
I did not fully understand the comments on the forum plugin... lost in translation...
Miroslav post says it all but still when faced with User dependency issues, you don't automatically assume the dependency is another plugin...
Mike
Using a project via the gateway is for convenience, plugins installed this way are automatically updated along with the application. However, plugins can be installed and managed manually if you prefer this approach.
For example all the plugins found here can be cloned in to the /plugins/rainlab folder and will work as normal:
To migrate the plugins you either:
- Log out and log back in to the Backend area
- Run the CLI command:
php artisan october:up

how can i add/buy Paid plugin to my local project without sync/attach because i had modified some plugin for my project and i was sync/attach the project it will reinstall all of plugin which i was edited that affect to my project a lot.
@l2esforu16154,
If you buy a plugin you need a project where you bind it too. There is nothing wrong with it. If you need some extension to a plugin, please leave it unmodified and create your own plugin which extends the orginal one. Manually change plugin code is bad practice
Hello, I have to buy a plugin on a project already started, my problem is that initially I had not connected a project, if I connect it later ... what happens to the plugins I had already installed? risk of losing them? are they reinstalled? or would you install only those missing? thanks
Hello,
Please note that this is not a category but that you have posted your new question as a comment to a post. Please open a new post for a new issue to prevent confusion for people following the original post.
Detaching or attaching projects to your site never deletes plugins that are already installed. All adding a project to your site does is check if the project contains plugins that are not installed on your site yet and install those. It is a way to quickly install a lot of plugins and the only way to install paid plugins.
Please note that if you later detach your site from a project, any paid plugins you have installed will no longer receive updates. The already paid plugin will become available for use in another project. The Regular license gives you the right to use the Product to create one single Website for yourself or for one client. If you want to use the plugin on multiple sites you will need an Extended license.
