Hello everyone,
I'm new to OctoberCMS and I'm trying to install it on my website. On the installation page here they say the minimum version of PHP is 7.0.8, but if I install the wizard I get a error telling me that I should have a minimum of PHP 7.2. Is there anywhere a download for PHP 7.0? I'd like to hear your answers.
Thank you! Jeroen
@JeroenvanRensen the wizard installer should only require PHP 7.0.8, as per the installation page. The only time PHP 7.2 will become a requirement is when we have released our Foundation framework update, which is still a couple of weeks away.
Would you be able to let us know the specific error message you received?
Hi Benno,
I've downloaded it the Wizard installer from (here)[https://octobercms.com/docs/setup/installation#wizard-installation] and opened *install.php. I got this message in my browser:
I hope this is enough information, and I hope you can help me, thank you!
This has been done in preparation for the Laravel 6 update in a few weeks. If you absolutely must install on 7.0 then just revert https://github.com/octobercms/install/commit/e1e6f3fd4fee3e6591a04dfc3e0ed9ac0fcaabcc in your local files, but I highly recommend just upgrading to PHP 7.2 at least since there will only be one more update with support for PHP 7.0 (Build 466).
