Been watching the 'Watch and Learn' video tutorials for October cms and number 4 is all about Elixir and Gulp. To be honest If I don't need to then I won't use it. Most of my work is based on shared hosting with some on dedicated servers.

So I guess I'm asking (and assuming the answer is no) does anyone else use this and is it considered a prerequisite for using October cms?

Also, I'm used to using GetSimple cms over the past few years but I'm now leaning towards October, is there a way to auto generate the nav bar content so that if I created a new page then the link would automatically appear in the menu (if desired).

Many thanks

No, it is not a prerequisite. October CMS has very few dependencies but does not restrict what you can bring yourself. So if you want to use it, you can; and if not, that's fine too!
