Hi,

I'm new to October and I'm trying to create my first website with the help of this theme. The website is multilanguage and I'm having a hard time to translate the blocks on a page. I can switch the language for the blocks and can add blocks for the other language, but if I do that, these new blocks show up for all languages. Only if I delete the blocks for the second language, my blocks for the first language show up again, but also for all languages.

So, what's the right approach for this? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Follow up question: Is there a way to copy blocks from one language to another?

Hello Torsten.
Theme is updated and has some fixes with language switcher. Please update your theme to the latest version. Please note that if you upgrade the theme will delete all the work you have done (octobercms theme updating way). If you want to save your existing work let me know to give you instructions.

Hello Charis,

thanks for your response and the update. If I understand it right the only change, regarding the language topic, was the markup update for the language picker. see https://cl.ly/7e8641

But this doesn't seem to fix my problem. I didn't used the picker to change the languages. I just added the language code to the url. It works with the site title but not with the content in the "Blocks" tab. The same problem a before remains:

I can switch the language for the blocks and can add blocks for the other language, but if I do that, these new blocks show up for all languages. Only if I delete the blocks for the second language, my blocks for the first language show up again, but also for all languages.

So, what's the right approach for this? Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help!

Update on this issue:

I think I figured it out. It seems it was a mismatch of my current knowledge of octobercms, the settings for translate plugin and the setting for the localepicker. It works now.

Thanks again!
