Setting up October CMS noticed that I appear as a guest on the frontend even if I'm logged in on the backend. That's probably normal, I'm quite new to October system. But, I have, for testing, a second instance of October installed with Vanilla theme and there my backend login translates to the front too.
I'm puzzled. I don't know if I did something wrong on my default install or if the rest comes from Vanilla theme. I'm thankful to anyone that could give me a little shad of light on this.
Can you give more details on what your "front-end" actually is? Component?
The web
middleware is needed to setup the session which would hold the logged-in backend user for one...
On the October installed for testing purposes I have the Vanilla theme with the required plugins. On the first site I have Material Journal with the required plugins plus forum and users, with the pages setup replicated from Vanilla.
Now when I try to log in to the first site frontend with my backend user I get: user not fround with given credentials.
Hard to tell without seeing the Material Theme installed, but from what I can see this theme is not using the RainLab.User plugin, so its functionality is not integrated in the theme.
You'll have to replicate this from the Vanilla Theme (which DOES integrate the RainLab.User plugin).
I did so with the user components. I will check if I missed something. Also, would be awesome if I could link the user name displayed on Rainlab Blog articles to a page with all the user's posted articles.
