I've just started doing some freelance web development for local businesses in my area at the end of last year. I find that a lot of clients want me to build their sites in a way they can then update later so naturally the easiest option for me was WordPress. Although the clients would be happy with the sites I was building, I wasn't. I would run audits using the lighthouse tool to score on performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO. It was always an uphill struggle to configure WordPress to get these to score high (especially performance).

This was naturally making me unhappy with something I love doing, so I considered creating my own solution and started to plan. Soon after, I realised how much of a task this would be moving forward.. So I searched for other options via Google and Reddit. I seen a few people mention October CMS so I decided to have a look. Within minutes I had it set up on my local server, I then briefly watched a Youtube video from Watch and Learn and was blown away with how intuitive the full system was!

I'd say my level of programming is not beginner nor expert. I most likely rank somewhere in the middle, whereas I understand how things work within code but sometimes I need some help. I have developed various bespoke website designs based around the Bootstrap framework and within 2/3 hours of using October CMS I had transferred one of these over. I grabbed a couple of plugins to help with performance and loaded the website on my online server space and the results were AMAZING! Scoring 90+ for everything, navigating the website was super quick exactly like the website was before integrating it with October.

I've started watching some more videos on this great CMS & reading through the documentation and it just gets better. The extensibility of it all just excites me. It's the bare bones CMS that I needed and if there is anyone else out there that maybe uses another CMS and they may be unhappy with how much bloat comes with them, I'd recommend 100% giving this CMS a whirl. It really can increase your productivity. It is created in a way that is so easy to pick up and learn and integrating your own bespoke web design into this CMS is super super easy!

Thanks to the team and community behind October CMS and I hope to be able to give back.

I agree,

October is now a master piece in our dev process. We can do hudge and critical websites with October, i can’t imagine code with an other.

I think, creators themself can’t imagine what we do with this incredible tools. October, best CMS ?!

Hooo no ! It’s not just a CMS for me. I can drive API with it, i can code in team because of the plugin structure, i can make full website, i can make tools with no front end, i can make data-analysis, i can use widget dashoard only for monitoring distant server components, i can tweak everything in this to make what i want.

A CMS !? lol October ... so much more than a CMS.
