Hello,

I'm really excited about october CMS. I was using Joomla for long time but it's just overkill for small projects.

I moved to October because I thought at the beginning that it is flat-file system. This would be huge advantage for me because of the backup and migration simplicity. But now I see that it is not that simple at all and I simply cannot believe that this great project is missing this functionality.

In Joomla I would simply export the database from phpMyAdmin and than I would import it to the new one. I would make the same with the data from FTP. Is it possible to do the same here or I have to actually buy plugin for that? Also is it possible to make prefix for database tables in case of having multiple projects using same database?

Thank you all very much for answers!

There's no reason you cannot do this with october as well. Just export and import your database and copy the filesystem. You could even use git to manage all the content and migrate it to another server.

Although I suggest you use one database per project, you can do this by editing your config/database.php. Set connections -> mysql -> prefix as you need it.

There is a plugin built by Renatio. It's very good and easy to set up:
