Since Laravel 5.1 is LTS version, is there any schedule to move October onto Laravel 5.1?

Laravel's LTS version has caused a minor delay in October reaching the Stable version, we are working on resolving the situation to reach long term support. For now, we will stay on Laravel 5.0 for a little while longer.

@daftspunk : do you think there will be major changes on October code specially plugin development when its upgraded to Laravel 5.1 ?

We have live sites out in the wild now, any breaking changes will be thoroughly documented and announced. Anything you develop now should remain stable from this point on, it is a promise that comes with the Release Candidate version.

When can we expect a release version?

I just had some major hassle getting Cache with complicated queries to work, because there is a problem in serializing collections in 5.0 which seems to be resolved in 5.1. Really looking forward to OctoberCMS running on 5.1....

composer create-project october/october myfolder dev-stable

I've been using October on Laravel 5.1 for months.

Edit:

Right, dev-develop is what I meant.

dev-stable is not available (at the moment maybe?), but dev-develop ist. Trying that out right away...
