Hello all I knew about October not long time ago when looking for a databaselesss CMS. I have some experience with joomla, but for my personal website I wanted something flat-based. I start the installation of October and I realised that I need actually a database for the installation. Is there any way to install the CMS without database? Is October a databaseless CMS or I'm really confused with the different concepts here? Thanks you

SQL database is absolutely required.

So what databaseless or flat-based CMS really means in this context? Thanks you for your reply

That you use files to store data/values/paths

This means you would have a creation component that would store your data in a txt or html file. and update the routes config file

You would have a route component, which states which url loads which html files in which template

path:
    url: /pages/welcome/
    content: /static/html/message.html
    template: default

The router would then look through its config file, find a matchingurl, load the defined template and contents, and output it to the client when requested.

That's basically a flat cms.
