Hello. I can add a table. I gives me a 3 by 3 structure. But then no option to edit the table to delete/add a row or columns. Right-clicking exposes no options. Likewise, I can add an image, but no options to edit later. Will these features be coming? The 'source' button seems to be forbidden, in the voidTags, so not possible to edit the raw html. Thank-you

Hello, and thank you for the clear report. You were right on both counts, and the fixes are coming in BlockCraft 0.2.0.

Tables. The editor had the commands for this but no way to reach them. In 0.2.0, when the cursor is in a table a Table bar appears under the toolbar with: add row above/below, delete row, add column left/right, delete column, toggle header row, merge cells (drag across cells to select them), split a merged cell, and delete table. You can also drag a column border to resize it, and the width is now kept when you save.

Images. Click an image and an Image bar appears: alt text, width, align left/center/right, Replace… (opens the Media Manager) and Remove. While testing your report I also found that alignment was being lost when the page was saved, and that the Media Manager stayed open after inserting. Both are fixed. Images you aligned in 0.1.x keep that alignment in 0.2.0, unless saving the page again in 0.1.x had already dropped it. If an image lost it, select it and set it again.

The "source" button. There wasn't a source button that had been switched off. The voidTags list you saw is internal to the HTML cleaner: it lists HTML elements that never contain anything (img, br, hr and so on), and the source in it is HTML's <source> element (the one used inside <video> and <picture>), not a button. But your point stands: there was no way to edit the raw HTML. 0.2.0 adds an HTML button that switches the field to its HTML source. One thing to know: the editor only keeps HTML it can represent, and everything is cleaned on the server when you save, so scripts, inline styles, event attributes such as onclick, iframes and javascript: links are removed. That's deliberate: it means no one can store something harmful through the field. If you'd rather your editors didn't see the HTML button, leave source out of the field's buttons option.

Updating (once 0.2.0 is out):

  • Composer: composer update amjadiqbal/blockcraft-plugin, then php artisan october:migrate.
  • Marketplace: Settings → Updates → Check for updates.

No changes are needed in your fields.yaml. The only exception is a field with a custom buttons list: add source to it if you want the HTML button there.

If anything doesn't work the way you expect, reply here and I'll look at it.

Fantastic. "the Media Manager stayed open after inserting" - i noticed that too - very confusing. Looking forward to the 0.2.0 release.
