Added some code to the custom JS area in the advanced tab within theme customisations.

This is changing quotes to " and also other characters etc.

Is this something that can be fixed?

I fixed this issue on the latest update. Please update theme on latest version.

Try this to download the latest version v 2.2.1:
1.Detach project
2.Delete theme from octobercms backend
3.Attach project

Just be careful because all your theme work will be deleted. If you don't want to go this way let me know and i will tell you how to fix it by yourself.

Thanks - fixed by myself - strange that October don't recognise that I've bought the theme and attached - so is not updating.. is this a bug?

Octobercms currently doesn't allow update your theme because this way will overwrite anything on theme.You have to follow the process i told you to be able to have the latest theme version. But Octobercms team will fix that soon.
