There is a known issue with certain hosting providers. It prevents the CMS from saving pages or layouts.
We are aware of the following hosting providers that are affected by this issue, often with cPanel based providers:
- GoDaddy
- HostForWeb
- GreenGeeks
- Hostinger
This error appears to be caused by strict ModSecurity settings. As a result, if the server detects certain keywords, such as <form>
and other HTML elements it will completely block the entire contents of the postback data.
After working on a layout or creating a page that uses it, you may see this an error like this when saving:
- The object you're trying to access doesn't belong to the theme being edited. Please reload the page.
- Access to this resource on the server is denied!
There is no known workaround to this problem. Please try contacting the hosting provider to have the security restriction lifted.
