Hi all, I am interested in using October Cms in an upcoming in-house project, but I wish to make use of the backend section of October only. i am not interested in the frontend, the entire application functionality should be presented using only the backend. is this possible?
I'm not sure I understand your question - do you just want to use October for a backend cms to feed a different front-end? I'd say no - October is a file based cms so you build your output files for front-end delivery.
If you mean 'can I build a back-end/web-app' with no front-end - then yes. I am re-working my personal office management suite into October (client management, invoicing etc.) - there are elements that integrate with the front-end of my website but also parts that are totally back-end.
So yes, build your plugin(s) but don't worry about the components/front-end.
@BlackpigCreative, thanks for your insight. I want the entire app to live in the backend. The app is not content centric but rather has a lot of forms and all the processes that goes with them. I have absolutely no need for the frontend at all. I love to use all the wonderful tools provided by the october backend.
i guess it's possible with some rewites ... in the urls and have october in a different folder or something ... i'm gone try it tomorow at work ... but yeah having only october backend will be a great ideea ..
