In the latest version of OctoberCMS when we create a new page from the static pages plugin, there is no option to commit it to the file system? So therefore it is only being served from the cached files and is not easily committed to git.

Also there is no way to remove files now when you delete them, they remain in the theme content/static-pages folder which would put them back each time you do a git deploy.

Hey Jess,

In the theme management area, when editing a theme, there is a checkbox to save the changes in the database (and not the filesystem). It sounds like this checkbox might be checked for your active theme.

I hope this helps!

Yup you were right - haven't seen this function before.

Handy to store in the database so you can restore from backups if people accidentally delete pages or stuff them up etc but i guess the trade off is its slower to load pages from the db. Decisions...

Yes, indeed!

There is also a config setting which overrides the Database mode globally; CMS_DB_TEMPLATES in config/cms.php. So if changing the setting in the active theme does not work, it is possible this gets overwritten in de config/cms file or .env.
