I am looking to have a simple email optin feature on a sinlge page site. Right now I have a modal that would pop with a simple form with email as the only field. But I would like to check against localStorage or a cookie to see if they have previously opted in. If that have then don't pop the modal and send them right to the download they are looking for.

I am working with the AJAX library right now and can't quite figure out how to send the request using fully javascript.

I can put the data attribute on the form and create the php function. But if I try to run it with just javascript the request object isnt attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
