Hi Guys I'm pushing for using composer in our development company. What I wanted to know if there's a general rough roadmap to October 1.0 ?

That I know of, October simply has build numbers and no version. As I understand there will be no version at any point.

October will be out of beta when Sam and Aleksey decide it's ready. Sense they do this on their free time, I would not blame them for not publicizing a roadmap and/or timeline. I wouldn't expect to see that either.

What I do know is that all builds should be graceful at this point and relatively problem free on update.

Hi Chad

I'm asking about some sort of version number mainly because I've noticed some changes on github that move some parts of code as deprecated 2015, but without version numbers that will be hard to know

The removal of 2015 deprecated code will most likely occur when we make the change to Laravel 5 early next year, this is likely the only time where a website may break and upgrade instructions are required (we might get lucky and not need it). The next step beyond this is a stable release where object APIs get locked down.

Once stable, deprecated code cannot be removed. In other words, improvements can still happen so long as the existing interface is preserved. October becomes "Heritage Listed" once it reaches stable.

Thank you for the reply, that should make people happy (collegues and clients).
