I have developed a simple REST API with SLIM and I would like to use it with October now my question is it better to create a subdomain to host this API or should I extend October ? What I mean by better is faster because I am worried that my application will slow down eventually with all the plugins in place..

Any thoughts ?

Raja, It really depends on what the API is doing. If it is integral to your application (serves blog posts, provides functionality on every page, needs access to user data, or is used extensively within your October app), I would advise you go ahead and integrate it into your October app. On the other hand, if it only is used on a handful of pages and is not a core function of your application then I advise keeping them separate.
