Hi I've created a plugin through the scaffolding commands, but couldn't see the plugin when I go to /backend/system/updates. Only when I logged out and logged back in did I see the plugin. This is odd behaviour. Surely the plugin should display when the Check for updates button is clicked. Any thoughts on this?
That seemed odd to me the first time it happened, but it is normal operation. If you take a look at the docs here: https://github.com/octobercms/docs/blob/master/plugin-registration.md#migrations-and-version-history
The very bottom paragraph states:
Note: To apply plugin updates during development, log out of the back-end and sign in again. The plugin version history is applied when an administrator signs in to the back-end. Plugin updates are applied automatically for plugins installed from the Marketplace when you update the system.
Ah, completely missed that. Thanks!
Would've been nice if there was a way that this could happen when you just go to your updates page and the newly created plugin would be there upon page load
