Dear October community,

since I didn't find any fitting plugin, I would like to know if you can give me any advice on how to solve my problem: I'm experimenting with October CMS for nearly a week and I think that its usability is just awesome. Especially for HTML/Twig/PHP-beginners like I am.

Right now I'm working on a private portfolio website and there, I'd like to embed certain content snippets from other websites where I published videos, etc. . So mainly I'd like to have some kind of URL preview which shows a thumbnail of the header image, the title and the meta description. I tried to work with the Include Contents Plugin but since the documentation is only rudimentary, I didn't have any success to embed contents from remote websites in my frontpage.

I'm open for suggestions on how to solve the problem. Thanks in advance!

Since I didn't get a reply yet, I tried to do some more research in the meantime. Now I want to give it another try here in this forum.

Actually, I stumbled upon services like embedly, iframely etc. Unfortunately, I didn't find any plugin for embedding URLs and presenting those third party contents as a link to the original websites on my private page. Now I wonder if you have any tipps, advice or links to fetch meta data from other websites and present those HTML snippets on my page. Just like WP which works with the oEmbed protocol.
