Can model File attachments (http://octobercms.com/docs/database/attachments#file-attachments) be moved from 'public' to 'protected', when they are already uploaded?

I am looking for a method of some kind, that would provide moving a uploaded file from 'upload/public' to 'upload/restricted'. If I understand correctly, it is now only possible to dedicate a file to public or restricted upon upload, not after that anymore. Or do I overlook something?
