I've just installed Octobers CMS, the default admin user is not able to do any actions or changes within the backend. I've seen that there was an issue within the database on previous versions (you had to add {"superuser":1} manually into the users table) however that isn't the issue on my installation.

I haven't seen any other suggestions as to what the issue could be, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you install October via Installer or manuell?

I installed via command line. When I login as admin and try to install a plugin I get 'Access Denied.'

Access Denied sound like wrong chmod. What does your logs say?

Yeah sounds like you might need to reset permissions (chmod) on your project. Also "chown" the project to prevent this from happening again.
