First .. this is an awesome CMS! So big thanks!

I've set up 2 test versions on 2 different Linux boxes, but am experiencing the same problem on both: as soon as I change any aspect of a user, that user can no longer log back in. For example, I create user "foo" with password "bar", give use "Super user" status, assign him to "admin" group, save, sign out from current account, and log back in with new account "foo" .. so far so good.

If then go to "My Account" as user "foo" and change my password and click "save & close" I get the "Access Denied" message. I then remove all cookies, clear cache, and go back to backend log in screen and try to log in with new password .. "Access Denied". I also noticed in the database that the "permissions" field is now empty. I wonder if there is an issue with how the "My Accounts" form/screen saves the update.

Any thoughts?

Probably related to this issue (as suggested by DanielHitchen).

That makes sense. By the way, also noticed that it seems to be ok when admin changes pswd for another user, but not if that user changes his/her own pswd (or any other info) and clicks "save".

I just ran into this myself. I hope someone can provide some guidance.

Ok, I figured out how you can fix your broken user. Update the permissions field for the user and add this json: {"superuser":"1"}

Seems like a bug to me.

Can you post your fix over on the GitHub issue above for the devs so they can take a look to see if that fixes the bug etc?
