Hi All. New to October CMS. Before installing it I read a lot about the advantages of Flat File CMS.

Remember? OctoberCMS won Flat File CMS Contest.

When I installed it I was in doubt: why does it require a database access? Well, I supposed OctoberCMS store some configuration in database an I move on

When installation was end, I installed my first plugin: RainLab.Blog. What was my surprise when I see the blog's posts was stored in the database??

So my question is: Is OctoberCMS a real Flat-File CMS?

For backend usage, you must need some sort of database and October allows sqlite3 database which is a file-based data base so you can use sqlite3 and you do not need any external database.

and for your static pages, it is in theme and all are files. all theme files and their settings can be stored in files so when you migrate you just need to export the theme and all done!

there is a good article where you can find about themes : How To Edit OctoberCms Theme

And from here : Extend And Export OctoberCMS Theme Settings you can make all theme settings available in the file:

If you do this you can achieve 100% flat-file CMS
