In the CMS > Pages --or-- CMS > Layout if I enter plain text in the markup editfield and then click save, it works.

On the other hand, if I enter real markup (i.e. html tags) I get a weird error:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jd7i4knz3hx3vso/Screenshot%202016-06-19%2010.33.48.png?dl=0

It is an unreadable msgbox with a very long html.

If I place the files myself, I can see them correctly in the backend, but if I edit them (even just adding a space anywhere) I cannot save them.

Any idea on whats going on here, and how to solve it?

Here is an example, but it gives error with other html tags too:

Hi You are having some strange problems today! Again this works all the time for me so we will have to guess some things that might be wrong. First refresh the browser cache to make sure you have the latest version. Then check to see if you have any strange plugins, the backend plugin that allows you to change its look and feel can affect the javascript. Best check with a plain install of october if possible. Then if all else fails, force an update on October and see if that helps. Sorry if these are not helpful thoughts

I tried with a clean install and the problem is the same.

I opened the layout of the October demo, just added a space somewhere in the markup, then clicked save, and the same error showed up again.

How can I "force an update on October"?

I found the "force update" and did it, still no luck, same error

If I edit the Mail templates markup, I can save them with no errors, so I guess the problem comes from some handlers in the CMS > Layouts saving code

This is super weird, if I just type text in the page it saves ok, as soon as there is some HTML tags I can't save it, please help

This is Know Error,it has to do with your hosting, ask your hosting technical support to add some exceptions to mod security and that will fix the problem.

The error is documented here http://octobercms.com/support/article/ke-1

Hello, I also have a similar error, but with mine it's a different permission: http://thefifthengine.cu.cc/storage/app/media/Capture.png - Note: i installed it on a server, NOT localhost. On the localhost it works just fine. One more thing: with this error u can't type: and Any advice would be appreciated.

Re-edit: Ya, I contacted my local provider and he say: "mod_security" is interpreted as "HTTP Response Splitting Attack" - and now it works, I can save
