I’m not really sure where the best place to post my question. I was browsing through the forum and noticed that comments were being posted about the forum being dead with many questions unanswered. Some of the replies indicated that Slack would be a better choice for posting questions and getting answers, with that said I have also posted my question in the Slack Community.

I am looking to possibly move away from WordPress because I would like to build a multi-vendor style website similar to eBay where people can post classified ads and auctions. I’m not sure that WordPress would be the best option for a website like this therefore, I am here to ask if it’s possible to build a website like this using OctoberCMS? Can it handle extreme loads of traffic? Is it secure? Are there already plugins available that will provide this functionality or would I have to find a developer to build plugins to accommodate a website like this? I am not a developer so building plugins is not something I could tackle myself to get the functionality I need. If i could not find a developer to build custom plugins how easy is it for non-developers to build their own plugins? OctoberCMS looks to be a great CMS to use for building websites, how easy or difficult is it to build themes for OctoberCMS? Are there any visual drag and drop theme builders available that allow non-developers to build custom page layouts etc? I have looked through the plugins and themes marketplace and it seems things are still pretty thin for availability such as no plugins available that allow importing and mapping XML, JSON, REST API imports into OctoberCMS. Is there any specific reason developers are not building plugins that add this functionality to OctoberCMS? I would really love to get away from WordPress and venture into a better CMS, however, being a non-developer I’m not sure it’s possible until I can learn to code?
