I currently work for a small company that sells insurance products in Florida. The company wants to expand and offer services in other states. In specific states the firm wants to offer tailored content. I plan on building the site for the business with OctoberCMS. I want to know what is the best way to do the following:

  • Prompt users for there location.
  • update there location
  • Redirect them to specific content based on there location.
  • Provide the ability for an user to update their location via dropdown in navigation or popup modal.

A great example is insurance company websites when you visit them and prompt you for your location to provide information, content, or services based on your location.

What would be the best approach to do this? Any help or suggestions is much apprecitated.

Look at using the RainLab.Location plugin as a base.
