How do I fix the flash messages so I know what is actually incorrect when I'm using the CMS to create things (pages, partials, assets, etc.) No matter what I do its always get a message like the below.
Any help would be appreciated. FYI here I am adding "width: 9px;" and it won't save until I remove it. I have reinstalled from a freshly downloaded copy.
Soooo this is even wierder its not that I have "width: 9px;" here its just that its "9px" if I change it to "10px" it saves. Did not expect using this CMS to be this umm interesting but slogging ahead.

Sorry moltmans11123, I think we need more info to understand what is happening here. How about replication instructions?
This only occurs on my server where I get all green check marks for install I have fileinfo active. If I install this on a fresh copy of xampp everything works perfectly fine.
Getting the same issue. If I make a new file in partials or anywhere in CMS it works fine. But the existing ones will not write. I have changed the permissions but still no luck.
It works fine locally on a MAMP env, as well as on a VPS with LAMP. But the joys of somebody having shared hosting on CentOS. It doesn't seem to save and returns html like pic below
Update: Seemed to be an issue with the hosts modsec rules in Apache. Host bypassed domain and it was working again. It's working but not the ideal answer to any question really.
I figured it out as well earlier and I forgot to post here yes if you get the above modsec is your issue. To octobro I would say its a good thing it shows that your server is over doing it in the security department which is always a good thing.

it seems im having exactly same issues... on localhost everything works fine, as soon i move it to live server i cannot save any changes to "pages"
will contact my host to see what they can do about it
or is there something i could do in htaccess (however i have shared hosting so it could be a limited at what i can do there)
thanks

my host has disabled mod_security and it works perfectly!
You shouldn't disable it just ask them to white list the rules that october is tripping. Modsec is what keeps the baddies out. It should always be on never disable it.

they assured me they have a lot of mods active, so where is no danger :) but if you could share what rules needs white listing i could pass it on. As they not very familiar with octobercms
