Hello,

Basically my question is what the title says, what's my benefit in using this plugin instead of the RainLab one.

Hello,

There are several reasons for writing this plugin:

  • Groups. For my projects it was inconvenient that one user can be assigned several groups.
  • Doubtful system of blocking users
  • User permissions. In the official plugin there are none, it defines permissions by roles. Since each developer releases its add-ons for the plugin, the name of the roles is the same in meaning, but different by name (users and user, mod and moderator) gets confused. In my case, individual permissions are registered just like in the backend.
  • Restricting access to the page. In the official plugin, the division is made only registered, the guest and everything that very much limits the creation of the structure of the future site
  • Since I use the plug-in in several projects, after each update I do not want to bypass all my projects to update the plug-in. If there was a possibility of "private" plugins, then it is unlikely that you would see this plug-in

You really understand that such corrections are unlikely to be made in the official plugin, since this is a different structure.

Of course, I understand that because of this, User and Users will start to get confused in the plug-ins, but I do not see altarnativs.

Thank you very much for replying, and prompting me with the answer I was looking for! Will look forward into this plugin!
