• option to include "alt" or "title" information to the link
• option to add a "class"
• option to add an "id"

Yeah mate, go for it. If you want to fork the code and do your own thing feel free as well, it's all open source. I'm always open to pull requests on github too. Basically, do what works best for you if I can't get it out in time :)
