The Ghost User plugin enabled administrators (with permission) to login to any front-end user account. 'Ghostin' to that particular user that may be having trouble without compromising the user's password. This plugin adds a button to the RainLab User list. When you click the button on a particular row you will be signed-in as the user (row) in question and navigated to the front-end.

The plugin comes with a banner component. Adding the [ghostBanner] component to your theme's Layout or Page will place a banner across the top of the site, indicating your ghostly activity. Clicking the Ghost Banner will sign you out of the account and navigate you back to the RainLab.User list in the back-end.

Setting up and Ghostin

  1. Install the JD.GhostUser plugin.
  2. Apply the appropriate permissions in your backend settings.
  3. Navigate to the RainLab.User list in the back-end.
  4. Click the Ghost button for a particular user to be signed-in.

Ghostin-out

The easiest way to sign-out from your session is to add the [ghostUser] component to your theme's Layout or Page. This will add a banner to the top of your website that once clicked with sign you out and navigate you back to the RainLab.User list in the back-end.

Alternatively you can navigate your browser to http[s]://[www.]your-site-name.tld/jd/ghostuser/logout - clicking the banner is a shortcut for this URL.
