  3. Why do most if not all of the themes available seem to be detached from the CMS?

I've tried multiple themes but the content of those themes seem to be static. I can't update the content without editing the source files. Like there is no integration with the CMS at all. Did I do it wrong or something? Is there a basic theme that supports blog post, content editing and users?
