I'd like to rewrite the markup for the channel page.

Instead of just calling {% component 'forumChannel' %}

Is there an example of regular markup I can use and rewrite to my needs? The author of flexi ontact was nice enough to provide an example using forms for his plugin. I'm just looking for something similar.

I'm not sure I know exactly what you're asking for, but you can edit markup components from the plugins directory in your working tree. Usually at "[project name]/plugins/[plugin name]/components/default.htm".
