I'm pretty new to October and I'm trying to do a clean install for a customer, at my hosting service. The customer has a site at another host at the moment and I want to complete my installation and development before redirecting the URL to my hosting,

My hosting service provides a temporary URL for development purposes, until I redirect the real URL.

Problem: October doesn't work well with the development URL, and seems to think it's the final URL. final URL: customername.com development URL syntax: customername.com.hosting.com

Symptoms: After installing successfully on "customername.com.hosting.com" the site doesn't work at all, giving me different errors every time I try to access the site. And when trying to reach "customername.com.hosting.com/BACKEND" it automatically sends me to "CUSTOMERNAME.COM/backend/backend/auth". - That is, it sends me to the final URL instead of the Dev URL.

My hypothesis is that the first ".com" in the development URL makes October think that's the complete URL, which totally wrecks the installation.

Could this be so? And what do I do about it? I'm trying to find a place where I can specify the URL for the site (app.php doesn't change anything)

This is driving me nuts and I really would love to use October as it seems like a super CMS.
