I setup october locally and it works fine.

I want to move to live server so I installed from scratch via composer on the live server and then uploaded the theme dir and storage dir

I did not bother with the db - i just recreated users etc..

All appears to work correctly except the media manager thumbnail preview does not work. When I click the image I just see the spinner. There are no javascript errors either.

How can I debug this or find the issue?

I figured this out. The problem was the gd library was not installed correctly. I reinstalled. I am using php-fpm so had to restart that service also
