This is more of a general type of question. What would be the general workflow for creating this in octobercms. I'm interested in developing a image slider with hotspots, the idea is that a client can add hotspot by clicking on an image uploaded to the backend.

Something (but simpler) like this plugin for wordpress https://codecanyon.net/item/image-map-hotspot-wordpress-plugin/5586825 The hot spot should have some information that the user can save - image, link, name (saved via ajax).

I was thinking of creating a custom field in the backend similar to the image field or an option to add it to the media manager?

Ok so I've figured out the way I want to do it. I'm creating a custom form widget for the backend - where the user selects and image using the media finder and then the image is displayed in the backend - the problem now it how to implement the media finder in that way? I was searching in the docs but could't find a way to achieve this.

That's exactly how mediafinder backend widget works and you have source code...
