Hi This is my first time installing OctoberCMS and like what I see so far. Everything seemed to load fine but now I have a 404 when I visit http://79.170.40.54/octobercms.je/backend/ or http://79.170.40.54/octobercms.je/ Please can someone offer some guidance? Thanks

Did you make any changes to the config files since it first worked?

Hi, To clarify when I say "it worked" I meant just the install process of the CMS, I successfuly reached a page that had an admin and standard URL links. However when I clicked either I got the 404. The webhost has suggested it could be the .htaccess file and here is a copy. Appreciate anything you can assist with. Thanks Steve

What is the DocumentRoot for your virtual host ? Did you install october in a sub-folder from that DocumentRoot and what is it? If yes, why did you install in a sub-folder?

try commenting out the following line:

In any case, your URL is wrong... you cannot have "/octobercms.je/" in the URL, where does that come from!?

That is just a domain reference for dev and testing on the webserver, I just named it that to test octobercms. Another example dev site with similar URL is http://79.170.44.77/lifeboatdevb.je/ Thanks

I guess it needs a live URL.

Does your vhost configuration have AllowOverride all set?
