I installed the Backup Manager plugin
https://octobercms.com/plugin/renatio-backupmanager

The default directory it saves backups to is /storage/app/backups/

These are the permissions it automatically sets to the directory and zip file:

I logged out of the Backend and went to the url /storage/app/backups/20170405093226.zip and could download the file.

That means anyone can just visit that url and download your database?
