Index-Now.ru for October CMS

Automatically submit public October CMS URLs to Index-Now.ru when content is saved.

What it does

  • Submits visible static CMS pages after save.
  • Optionally submits published RainLab Blog posts.
  • Skips hidden pages, dynamic routes, non-public URLs and local addresses.
  • Uses secure HTTPS transport, short timeouts and fail-open error handling, so an indexing service outage never blocks content editing.
  • Provides Russian and English backend settings.

Setup

  1. Open Settings → Index-Now.ru in the October CMS backend.
  2. Enter the Site ID and API key from your Index-Now.ru account.
  3. Enter the public base URL of the website.
  4. Enable submissions and save the settings.
  5. If RainLab Blog is installed, adjust the URL template if the website does not use /blog/{slug}.

The API key is never bundled with the plugin and is never written to plugin logs. Dynamic CMS routes are skipped unless the plugin can build a final public URL.

Installation via Command Line

php artisan plugin:install IndexNowRu.IndexNow

Installation

Install Index-Now.ru from October CMS Marketplace, then run pending October updates if the backend requests it. The plugin code is IndexNowRu.IndexNow and the Composer package is indexnowru/indexnow-plugin.

Requirements

  • October CMS 3.x or 4.x
  • PHP 8.1 or newer
  • An Index-Now.ru account with a Site ID and API key

Configuration

Open Settings → Index-Now.ru and configure:

  • Enable submissions — master switch. Nothing is sent until it is enabled.
  • Site ID — identifier from the Index-Now.ru account.
  • API key — authentication key. It is stored by October CMS and never logged by the plugin.
  • Public base URL — canonical HTTPS address of the website, such as https://example.ru.
  • RainLab Blog URL template — path containing {slug}; default: /blog/{slug}.
  • Request timeout — short network timeout in seconds.

CMS pages

After a static CMS page is saved, the plugin submits its final public URL only when the page is visible. Hidden pages, empty routes, wildcard routes and parameterized routes are skipped.

RainLab Blog

If RainLab.Blog is installed, published posts are submitted after save. The plugin replaces {slug} in the configured blog URL template and joins it with the public base URL. Draft posts and empty slugs are skipped.

URL and failure safety

Only public HTTP or HTTPS URLs are accepted. Localhost, private-network hosts, embedded credentials and unsupported schemes are rejected. Network and API errors are caught and logged without exposing credentials; saving content is never cancelled.
