After using the Wizard install to download October, I get the following message under the System Check screen: "Test connection to the installation server". (Reason code: liveConnection). I'm using WAMP and the services are definitely online. Is there something that I've missed?

Just more info, I'm on Windows 7 and not sure if this test connection issue is something to do with a firewall because I'm using this at work?

Is your cURL PHP Extension turned on? I had the same issue until the cURL was loaded right and WAMP restarted. Firewall should not play a role since it is allowing Apache to load.

I have this same problem. Running on a live server. No problems with running Laravel on the server.

The install page is accessed from a cPanel "tmp url": server1.domain.com/~user/install.php Maybe that has something to do with it?

Solved. It was the firewall.

I am having the same issue. Everything passes the system check but the "Test connection to the installation server " The reason code is liveconnection. I tried adding blocked IP Addresses to my outgoing connections, but that did not work. Any suggestions?

This is most likely to be a firewall issue. Try ssh and running install from command line if you can, the errors are easier to see.

thanks for reply but my provider doesnt provide ssh? So is there another chance get it to work?

Sorry but I would change provider. There are lots of cheap hosts now that offer really good servers that you get full control over. There is at least one post on the forum where people have made suggestions about good companies to use. (I use tsohost.com and I think they are great but there are many others)

dear user since i am new to octobercms and not getting correct place to post this,please correct me if i am wrong. Today i got new unusual problem in octobercms.As i start converting a html theme in octobercms,i made first page as home and when i preview i got this error "syntax error, unexpected '<', expecting function (T_FUNCTION)" and when i close the page and open again the html code dissapear.and head section goes into php section of cms page.

Guys just, restart Xampp or Wampp. i.e. restart Mysql and apache server
