Localized Pricing for October CMS
Posted in Announcements on Jul 01, 2025
Hello everyone
,
With the launch of October CMS v4, we also rolled out a new pricing structure for the platform. We wanted to take a moment to walk through what changed and what it means for existing customers.
Localized pricing
October CMS is used by developers, agencies, and in-house teams all over the world, and the value of a subscription looks very different depending on where you are. Until now, we've used a single price for everyone, with staged pricing tiers based on when each customer signed up.
With v4, we've moved to localized pricing. Prices are now set per region across six tiers, ranging from regions where software is typically less expensive to regions where it's typically more expensive. The default tier sits in the middle. This makes October CMS more accessible globally, and it also means newer customers are no longer paying more than longer-standing ones for the same product.
What this means for existing customers
For most existing customers, the new pricing will feel familiar. Many are seeing prices roughly comparable to what they had before, and customers in regions with lower software pricing are seeing a meaningful decrease.
A smaller group of customers, mostly those who were on early grandfathered pricing from years ago, will see prices that are higher than what they had previously. If that's you, please reach out. We're more than happy to review your account and find a pricing tier that works for your situation.
Pricing stability going forward
This new structure is the result of a lot of experimentation over the past couple of years, and it's the model we're settling on for the long term. Our intention is for pricing to remain stable from here, so you can plan ahead with confidence. We don't expect to revisit pricing again for the foreseeable future.
Localized pricing for plugin authors
Plugin authors can now opt in to localized pricing for their own products too. Inside the plugin settings in the author dashboard, you'll find an option to automatically adjust pricing for international markets to improve accessibility and increase sales. When enabled, your plugin's price will be adapted to each customer's region using the same tier model.
It's an easy way to make your plugins more accessible to a global audience without having to manage regional pricing manually.
New in the billing system
The v4 billing system also includes a few improvements customers have been asking for:
- Monthly subscriptions: previously, partner plans were billed annually only. You can now choose monthly billing if you'd prefer to smooth out the cost.
- Renewal reminders: subscriptions now send email notifications ahead of renewal so there are no surprises at billing time.
You can see your localized pricing on the Pricing page once you're logged in to your account.
Thanks for your trust and support, The October CMS team
