This plugin is quite useful, but I would LOVE to have the settings be based on user group.

i.e. The Admin Group sees the native editor. The Content Admin Group sees the wysiwyg editor.

Can't complain really. It did the job right.

  • Found the plugin not useful on 25 Feb, 2017

Pretty useless if you use Static Pages. Has had a Github issue since Jan 2016 that it doesn't work with static pages yet no response, plan or update since. Better it is made clear when plugins development is stopped and not maintained. Otherwise it becomes a waste of time thinking there is a solution when there is not.

    Very helpful, indeed! :-)

Only currently need it for content files, and using the Redactor editor for that (which is the same that's used by Rainlab.editable plugin on the frontend, for example [and a better option than the inbuilt October wysiwyg in StaticPages for example, imo]). Integrates very neatly in the CMS backend and working like a charm.

This is really an essential feature, to enable clients to simply edit content the WYSIWYG way within the CMS section - and by reducing their user permissions to that, and even best avoiding the clumsy and overhead-trodden StaticPages plugin, one has a very clean minimalistic setup to provide all needed functionality in a soberly and comprehensive way.

Not tested the other two editor options and think I don't need them for the time being. But maybe later. Who knows? Good to have some possible choice.

Very great to have this tool for now, and looking forward to any future versions.

The plugin code itself looks very well-written as well. Very clean and a pleasure to read and browse through to find out how things work under the hood. Sadhu! Sadhu! as them buddhists say. May the force be with you!

    -)

Doesn't works well with code editor and TWIG tags

  • Found the plugin useful on 11 Mar, 2016

    Help me please. Neither the editor does not see the images on a page. Instead, the image shows a blank icon. Editor why it substitutes its own path to the image, and get the following: / backend / rainlab / {{ 'assets / images / Logo_strelka.png' | theme}}

I think you are using this plugin with CMS pages, partials or things related to CMS, as you have written twig syntax( {{ 'assets / images / Logo_strelka.png' | theme}}) for image src, this is not supported by WYSIWYG editors, you can write only HTML related code in this, that is the reason.

My advise is that when you want to use twig syntax, don't use Wysiwyg editor.

    Thanks

After Installing I'v got the same error as everyone else.. https://github.com/anand-patel/oc-wysiwyg-editors/issues/59 - Forcing people to have to run commands on the server is not really a "solution" seeing as all other plugins don't require this type of work.. The plugin should not be crashing absolutely everything either. Pretty ridiculous. Please fix this.

It is a useful plugin indeed, just needed a few tweaks for getting it working. For those ones who are getting the ".editable is not a function" issue, I found this on the Github issue tracker... https://github.com/anand-patel/oc-wysiwyg-editors/issues/34

I have to agree with Rafal Kolcon. When trying tinymce or ckeditor the javascript gives the ghost. It seems the tinymce.js doesn't get loaded.

Also, provide a configuration option where you can put in the settings for tinymce(as which plugins to include etc...)

This plugin does exactly what it says. I noticed that the toolbar sometimes runs over the width of it's container, but otherwise it's a pleasure to use. I would say this plugin is an essential part of any site where the client will edit content.
