Hello Guys,

i'm WordPress User and i feel in love with page builder plugins such as

Is there a future plan to integrate this feature in october. The "Page" Plugin would be a great place for it.

Customers enjoy features like an inline editor and drag and drop.

My Plan:

  1. selection of different ready to use boxes like snippets
  2. selction of grid
  3. insert into a grid a new grid or an element

All elements are editable. Elements could be everything: images, text, accordions, boxes, audio, video, slider ...

Hi Valentin,

Did you check Static Pages plugin with Snippet function? Ocotber is make for developers and not for drag and drop users. I thing plugins like Visual Composer generate a huge overhead. In my expierence no end customer really uses this tools. So if you like to use them maybe its a better idea to stay with wordpress.

I'm a developped and I make a big +1 for that request.

I think it would make life easier not for developper, but for customers, to create good looking landing pages.

Ok there is the page plugin that do the job, but I think that manage content in an admin area is a thing from the past, now users wants to directly edit what they see (the frontend).

I think it would be a great addition to october to officially manage that (via official plugin), it would be a great addition for non technical customers, it would appeal a lot of wordpress users and greatly raise the october community user.

And we all know that the best cms is dead if it doesn't have a decent userbase.

I discovered the contentbuilder.js plugin and I find it very nice (but not free), It would be really great to be able to edit page content with something like this.

In my humble option, I love the October CMS philosophy but a Drag and Drop editor is a must now up days... and the reason I finally did not use October :(

WOW, I dreamed about it, october guys made it. If it's well made, you just earned a new agency as partner.

Is there an estimated date about this feature or it still a secret ?

Still WIP I believe

Any news about this ? Is it possible to have a beta program for early test and feedback ? I'm really interested by this feature.

Will there be a block based visual builder like the ContententBuilder.js?

I think about integrating contentbuilder.js for page editing and that's why I'm waiting some news about the core team implementation of a visual builder to avoid working on something that will become useless in some days/weeks/month ? (impossible to know actually)

We're an agency evaluating this CMS, and a "Visual Composer" like editor would be of huge interest to us.

Definitely keen for further updates and potentially alpha/beta testing.

As a developer I go back and forth on this idea. Sometimes I think this would be a useful solution for October, but them I remember all the times in the past where I've had to work with Visual Composer or some other page builder.

My hope is that this visual editor will be more efficient than that of the ones on WordPress. But knowing how well of a job you do with October I would say I think it will be fine.

(Also in addition, I hope that it's not something that comes standards with October or at least is something that doesn't add a lot of extra bloat to the software if it does!)

I'm quite confident with the core team to take the right decisions as october cms is a concentrate of good choices.

However, it would be great to have a planning for this feature as I'm like pvtl_kyle, we are evaluating october cms for our agency and knowing the release date of this feature would definitely help in the choice.

No update or date estimation about the release of this ?

We really need to know cause it can define if our agency use october in 2017 or wait for 2018 (if released in the end of the year).

This is huge news!

I am a developer, but it is getting harder and harder to compete with drag and drop web agencies that cater for SME businesses.

The October CMS team are really killing it with these amazing features.

I'm working on a page builder something like Visual Composer but only for OctoberCMS for now. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions.

Fwiw: i think the oc team is going the right direction. Drag builders are great, but for the core? Ehhhhhh..... I think the blocsapp integration is a gorgeous solution for the mac world (i only wish they were x-platform). I'm using pinegrow on linux, and v3 shows more promise than the 2.95 I'm using now. I love how lean the thing is. If a usecase can be served with a plugin/integration, leave it out of the core :)

...i think we've all cussed and stormed enough about drag builders' limits and side effects :)

@Shahiem : Any chances to see your plugin on the marketplace soon ? The suggestion will probably come after testing it.

I can suggest you to integrate the excellent "contentbuilder.js" javascript editor, very well made, easy to use, and if you can integrate their block system with october (block = content ?) it can be very powerful.

@daftspunk Any update about this live editing feature ? The last announce has 6 month old, it would be great to have some news about it.

I really love using october CMS, best plateform I've seen so far, but the website blog seems dead, the twitter and facebook pages are not very dynamic. It's not reassuring for the future...
